last week’s lesson in chinese was on counting [... im taking a chinese course this summah --- gettin back at 'em roots ya know?]. i ’ve known 1-10 since i was a kid, but now i know the numbah patterns basically up to a thousand (im not exactly sure how different they are after that… i shall ask the mama) : P it doesn’t sound like much but im pretty excited about it. i can understand numbers in chinese [mostly] without using my fingers now -> woot woot! learning how to count & recognize numbers all over again is really fun//entertaining for some reason. case in point: remember the pinball number counting song from good ol’ sesame street?

going to the pool has become one of the things we do to destress from studio. here are some pics from a mornin swim at the local pool with ralph - check it out:
pretty fun/relaxing. and for S$1.50 i was pretay impressed. the fact that singapore offers so many awesome public spaces like this kinda makes up for the fact that everyone here has to live in flats/condos/apts.

guess what program i saw as i walked past the tv room today? the price is right! yeah, i know, i was pretty surprised too, being in singapore and all : ) unfortunately, drew carey was hosting instead of ol’ bob barker… anywhoo …here’s the point of this rambling -> being an id pays off a bit in all the random furniture knowledge such as… when at the beginning of the show you and other potential contestents bid on the price of some product and the person who guesstimates the closest to its retail price [without going over, mind you] then gets to go on to play for more substantial prizes? … ok well most of the contestants guestimated around 700 bucks for this colorful whimsy ->
… but you and i [kinda] both know ol’ george nelson designed that babeh for herman miller back in the 50s, so.. we guess 2000 and.. really its worth around 2400, go us! we kick game show booty.

so i was s’pose to meet ralph at our terminal before our 9:45 flight to s’pore. i get to the checkin at 8. & they won’t let me on. . .
